Artist Bio

Justin Lupien is an artist based in Monterey, California.  He grew up in Sacramento and loves exploring the variety and beauty California has to offer.  He has a deep appreciation for cultural diversity as well as the plants and animals that cover the California landscape and the world.  He enjoys working with various mediums such as ink, graphite, acrylic paint, water color, photoshop, and collage.  His work consists of anything he feels like creating.  However, he especially enjoys lettering, typography, and nature. 
The subject matter of his work is inspired by street art and the natural world.  Justin started drawing letters at an early age and has interest in the presentation of letters and the power of words.  Though much of his art is ink on paper, Justin is passionate about creating mural paintings. One of his murals can be found on the CSU Monterey Bay Campus, building 72 titled: Illuminate.  
Justin has received a Bachelors of Arts degree in Visual and Public Art at California State University Monterey as well as an Associates of the Arts degree in Art History from the Monterey Peninsula College.
